An inspection from €300 can reveal a defect that would cost several thousand euros after purchase.

Value of an independent inspection

A good appearance does not reveal the true technical condition.

Polished gelcoat and a tidy cabin do not reveal deferred maintenance, improvised wiring, corrosion or costs due immediately after purchase.

The seller knows the vessel. The buyer often knows only the listing. Adria Vessel Advisory reduces that information gap.

Important distinction

This is technical buyer advice. It is not brokerage, repair work, certification, a statutory or class survey, or a warranty of future condition.

Process

Five steps from listing to an informed decision.

Preparation, evidence, consequence analysis and the final consultation matter as much as time on board.

Buyer report

A defect list is not enough. A decision hierarchy is needed.

The report explains what was inspected, what was inaccessible, the available evidence and the effect on safety, reliability, cost and the purchase decision.

Frequently asked questions

Before booking an inspection.

Does the inspection guarantee there are no hidden defects?

No. It describes accessible condition at the time and within the agreed scope. Hidden parts, future failures and items requiring dismantling cannot be guaranteed.

Does this replace an authorised engine service?

No. Manufacturer diagnostics, oil analysis and other specialist procedures should be completed by a qualified specialist when required.

Who pays for haul-out and sea trial?

Haul-out, wash, berth, fuel, skipper and other third-party costs are excluded unless the quote states otherwise.

Do you work outside Istria?

No. The current on-site service area is limited to Istria County.

Is the repair estimate a contractor quote?

No. It is an expected range for the buyer decision; a contractor confirms the final price after their own inspection.

What if the vessel is longer than 15 m or I need several vessels inspected?

Vessels above 15 m receive an individual quote because scope depends on complexity and system count. Multiple-vessel inspections receive separate pricing with a significant discount.
